When you just need help, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of La Crosse, Inc. offers:
Adoption
Building new families is a wonderful way Catholic Charities
has been serving our community for over a century. We help
families prepare to welcome an adoptive child, whether an
infant, a child with special needs or an international "gift
of love." We also help birth parents in the difficult but
loving adoption discernment process. Catholic Charities is
here for you, helping to build fruitful, caring relationships
after the adoption as well. To read more about our post-adoption
services, visit our Friends of Adoption Web site.

Services
Marriage-Family-Individual
The family is the basic unit of society - the "domestic church."
With a family-centered approach, we offer an opportunity for
honest and open dialogue when the relationship between family
members is tested. We'll address issues which affect the entire
family system, including your spiritual well-being, fostering
the love, freedom and commitment. The safety and stability
of each member of the family are paramount.
Emergency
Support Services
At one time or another we all find ourselves in a difficult
situation. Catholic Charities offers confidential, compassionate
assistance with life's basic needs. In a crisis that negatively
affects the family's well-being, our staff will respond with
counseling, assistance, referrals or recommendations to ease
your stress. We also offer disaster relief.
Financial
Counseling
Financial difficulties can develop quickly and devastate an
individual or a family. We'll help you plan a budget and manage
your debt. Whether you need a fresh start or just some advice,
we'll work through your financial difficulties with you.

Legal
& Advocacy Assistance
Catholic Charities advocates for just public policies, convenes
concerned communities around critical social issues and provides
a legislative voice for human rights and dignity. We also
provide opportunities for direct legal assistance to individuals
who are economically marginalized in limited circumstances.
Catholic Charities is called by the Diocesan Bishop to proclaim
the social teachings of the church and to promote just human
relationships in all structures of society.
Parish-Based
Ministries
Local ministries include Project Rachel, a post-abortion healing
and reconciliation program; Project Elizabeth, a woman-to-woman
ministry of presence and support; Parish Nursing, providing
comfort and respite to our elders and those suffering from
illness; school-based counseling for school children; and
Voices for Justice, a social justice action network.
