Welcome to a new way of considering service to those in need in our dioceses. Catholic Charities of La Crosse is pleased to announce a unique way to join with the mission of Catholic Charities.
Good Samaritan Affiliates are Christian men and women committed to the mission of Catholic Charities of La Crosse. Generally, we are Roman Catholic. However we accept all Christians. We are all ages and from all walks and conditions of life, drawn to prayer and of living the Gospel Values. Initial Good Samaritan Affililation is for three years.
As a Good Samaritan Affiliate we seek your prayerful and serving expression of your Christianity. Affiliates feel that they are making a difference in the lives of others especially the staff of Catholic Charities and those in need of Catholic Charities Services.
We offer two forms of affiliation: Prayer Affiliate and Servant Affiliate.
Prayer Affiliates enroll and indicate they will pray the Catholic Charities Affiliate Prayer each day, both for the staff and for the people they serve, that eveything might be given and received in the name of Christ.
Servant Affiliate in addition to the daily prayer, commits to join spiritually his or her own acts of loving service with the works of Catholic Charities. These acts can be in daily life or in our existing parish community.
Good Samaritian Affiliates commit themselves to Catholic Charities of La Crosse and one another. They share the vision and mission of Catholic Charities of La Crosse and make a formal commitment to prayer and service.
A very important component of being a Good Samaritan Affiliate is close communication with Catholic Charities, a constant source of mutual growth and support. When you enroll you will receive regular emals on Catholic Charities services, special requests for prayer and service, and upcoming programs for affiliates.
